Fashionable Jewels was founded on the idea that high quality doesn't have to mean high prices. We know how difficult finding hypoallergenic jewelry in the $20-$60 range is, and decided to create a line of beautiful, allergen-free jewelry to meet that niche.

I'm particularly passionate about ensuring our jewelry is free of allergens, as I am unfortunately unable to wear silver and anything less than 18k gold has caused severe reactions on me. Luckily, about 15 years ago we found out about Rhodium, a metal of a platinum family that can be used in creating hypoallergenic jewelry. Not only is it hypoallergenic, but Rhodium also does not oxidize or tarnish unlike other metals, meaning your jewelry stays shiny with minimal maintenance. Now all of our Swarovski jewelry, and a large percentage of our other jewelry are made with Rhodium.

Most people with metal sensitivities react to various impurities such as lead or nickel. Every single piece we carry will at the minimum be lead, nickel, and cadmium free. We also list other metals used on each of our pieces so you can make informed decisions about what jewelry to wear. See the allergen chart below to learn about the different metals we use; each tier will be progressively more hypoallergenic than the last.

Additional Information

Metals listed as "Not Hypoallergenic" will still not cause reactions in most people. I've listed them as such so people who do have severe metal allergies can be aware of which ones to avoid. If you do not have metal allergies, you will not have reactions to any jewelry regardless.
